Local Scholarships

Information on the following scholarships may be obtained in Mrs. Pearson's office:

Bargain Box Scholarship - Scholarship opportunity.  Applicants must write a maximum of two paragraphs describing themselves and what they plan to do with a college degree.  Applicants must attach a copy of high school transcript and a list of extra-curricular activities, as well as a copy of last year's tax return on which applicant was claimed as a dependent.  Applications and required attachments must be returned to Mrs. Pearson by Friday, March 22, 2019.

Black Warrior Electric Cooperative Foundation Scholarship- Scholarship opportunity for graduating high school senior who is the dependent of a cooperative member (must be on BlackWarrior Electric service.)  Applications are available in Mrs. Pearson's office and on the co-op's website, www.blackwarrioremc.com.  Applications must be returned to the ECF office before Feb. 15, 2019.  The address is listed on the application.

Christopher C. Scott Memorial Scholarship- The Scott family awards a $500 scholarship to a deserving student pursuing a college degree in the healthcare field.  Students must have a 3.0 GPA and write an essay.  Applications are available in my office.  Deadline March 15, 2019.

Cody Webb Memorial All Sports Scholarship- The Webb family will award two $500 scholarships to Marengo County students who exemplify character, sportsmanship, leadership, community involvement and have an overall "C" average or better. Deadline April 5, 2019.  Pick up in the counselor's office.

Emmett and Carolyn Clinkscales Scholarship - The Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary may award up to $1,500 annually to individuals who reside within the medical service area of the Tombigbee Healthcare Authority (THA) and wish to pursue education in the field of healthcare.  Deadline to apply is April 5, 2019.

King Scholarship- scholarship opportunity for senior male students in Marengo County and surrounding areas.  Applicants must submit an application and a two-page double-spaced essay on a given topic and submitted to the counselor by Dec. 19, 2019.  Information available in the English classes and the counselor's office.

Carolyn S. (Betty) McCormick Scholarship - The Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary may award up to $1,500 annually to the children or grandchildren of employees of the Tombigbee Healthcare Authority who wish to pursue education in the field of healthcare.  Children and grandchildren of THA employees who apply for this scholarship may not apply for any other BWWMH Auxiliary sponsored scholarship.  Deadline to apply is April 4, 2019.

"Pay It Forward" Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior of DHS.  Must pick up application in Mrs. Pearson's office.  Deadline is March 15, 2019

Pilot Club:  W. Howard Parr Memorial Scholarship- scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors.  Application may be picked up in Mrs. Pearson's office.  Deadline is Friday, March 1, 2019. See Mrs. Amie Miller with any questions.

The Study Club of Demopolis Scholarship- Deadline March22, 2019.  Pick up in the counselor's office.

Theo Ratliff Academic Scholarship- Deadline March 15, 2019.  Pick up in the counselor's office.

Reading Club Scholarship- Deadline March 15, 2019.  Pick up in the counselor's office.

Riverview Orthodontics Scholarship-  must be a current or former patient of Riverview Orthodontics. Deadline March 31, 2019.  Pick up in the counselor's office.
